ADULT LITERACY TUTORING
The core of the South Shore Reading Program is English-language tutoring.
Our dedicated volunteer tutors schedule weekly meetings with students who've requested assistance. Tutors are trained in the "Laubach Way to Reading" Program.
If you are interested in tutoring, or know someone who would benefit from tutoring, please contact us at email@example.com or 450-671-4375.
SSRC MOTHER GOOSE PROGRAM
The Mother Goose Program has been the keystone of the South Shore Reading Program's family literacy programming since 2008. The pre-literacy music program gathers parents and their young children (ages 0-3) together in a community setting. Professional animators model songs, finger plays, rhymes and simple dances to teach language, reduce isolation and provide parents with tools to interact with their young children in the most positive way.
RUTH'S CARE-SHARE CLUB
Ruth's Care-Share Club began as classes for adult students with intellectual disabilities over a decade ago. It's expanded to programming that includes literacy tutoring, art classes and Qi Gong instruction. We are graciously hosted by St. Mary's Parish on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1pm - 4 pm.
